The Effect of Lime Slaking Conditions on Slaked Lime Quality

In this study, the relations between slaking conditions and the properties of the slaked limes produced in different water ratios were investigated. The properties (porosity, specific surface area, %free CaO, %Ca(OH)2) of quicklimes (CaO) and calcined at 1000 °C and slaked limes were determined in laboratory conditions. At the end of the tests, it was seen that the water ratios, at 50% and 60% weight of quicklimes are inadequate and 70% weight of quicklimes is adequate for slaking process. However, the water ratio of weight %70 was occasionally determined insufficient for high quality quicklimes. At the end of the whiteness tests, the samples of quicklimes and slaked limes were showed higher whiteness degree and had determined in good quality according to their whiteness

KİREÇ SÖNDÜRME ŞARTLARININ SÖNDÜRÜLMÜŞ KİREÇ KALİTESİNE ETKİSİ

Yapılan çalışma ile söndürme şartları ve farklı su yüzdelerinde söndürülerek üretilen kireçlerin özellikleri arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Laboratuar şartlarında 1000 °C’de kalsine edilmiş söndürülmemiş kireçlerin (CaO) ve ağırlıkça farklı su yüzdelerine sahip söndürülmüş kireçlerin (Ca(OH)2) özellikleri (porozite, özgül yüzey alanı, %aktif CaO, %Ca(OH)2) belirlenmiştir. Deneyler sonucunda sönmemiş kireci söndürmek için kullanılan kirecin ağırlıkça %50 ve %60’ı kadar suyun çok yetersiz bir söndürme yaptığı ve ağırlıkça %70 suyun ise yeterli söndürme yaptığı görülmüştür. Bununla beraber ağırlıkça %70’lik su ilavesinin zaman zaman kalitesi yüksek kireçte yetersiz kaldığı tespit edilmiştir. Beyazlık deneyleri sonucunda gerek sönmemiş ve sönmüş kireç örneklerinin yüksek derecede beyazlık gösterdiği, bu özellikleri açısından da çok iyi bir kaliteye sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir
