In this study; coagulation/flocculation tests were carried out using solid tailings taken from flotation plant of Trakya Glass Industry (Mersin-Tarsus). Alum and fly ash were used as coagulants and the pulp was mixed in Jar-Test apparatus for 30 minutes. Then, sedimentation behavior of the particles was investigated at 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 minutes periods. After the experiments, it was determined that fly ash can be used instead of alum in the plant as a coagulant
Bu çalışmada; Trakya Cam Sanayi (Mersin-Tarsus) flotasyon tesisinden alınan atık üzerinde koagülasyon/flokülasyon deneyleri yapılmıştır. Koagülant olarak Afşin-Elbistan uçucu külü ve alüm kullanılmış ve süspansiyon Jar-Test deney aletinde 30 dakika süreyle karıştırılmıştır. Daha sonra 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 ve 30 dakikalık zaman aralıklarındaki çökme davranışları araştırılmıştır. Yapılan çalışmalar sonucunda koagülant olarak uçucu külün alümün yerine kullanılabileceği tespit edilmiştir.
