in this paper, various applications of bngwall, shortwall and pillar extraction coal winning methods are explained and compared with each other. The most suitable application for the mines where the longwall systems cannot efficiently be used, is the pillar extraction or the rib pillar extraction methods, a recently developed version of pillar methods using mobile support systems. In these methods, the coal is produced retreatingly in a single stage and it has many technical and economical advantages

Bu yazıda, yeraltı kömür madenciliğinde, düz kömür damarlarının üretiminde kullanılan uzun ve kısa ayak yöntemleriyle, topuklu yöntemlerin değişik uygulamaları verilmekte ve birbirleriyle karşılaştırılmaktadır. Yüksek verimle çalışılamayan uzun ayak yönteminin uygulandığı alanlarda, düz kömür damarlarının ekonomik olarak üretilebilmesi için en uygun çözüm olanağını, topuklu yöntemlerin yeni geliştirilmiş bir şekli olan ve mobil tahkimat kullanılan kare ya da şerit topuklu yöntemler sağlamaktadır. Bu yöntemlerle kömür, bir seferde ve geri dönümlü olarak kazanılmakta, hem teknik hem de ekonomik açıdan büyük yararlar sağlanmaktadır
