Abstract
In drilling, one of the most important points to be considered is; to maintain the same direction in the hole from start point to the bottom. But, either due to the facts resulting from the nature of drilling or through the other reasons; the hole deviation in drilling is always encountered. In some cases, deviation about 30° to 40° —even more— is quite possible, and if this deflection is not determined and the necessary measures are not taken; this may lend to make big mistakes in exploration and ore reserve calculations. The holes started vertically but ended up almost flat and having a bearing swung in a semi-circular cource are not very rare. Therefore, surveying the drill holes periodically and to make the necessary corrections must be essential in diamond drilling business.

Sondajcıhkta, Üzerinde önemle durulması gereken hususlardan biri de; kuyunun başladığı noktadan tabana kadar aynı doğrultuda açı/masının sağlanmasuiır. Ancak, gerek sondajın tabiatından gelen nedenlerle ve gerekse diğer faktörler sebebiyle sondaj kuyularında sapma herzaman karşılaşılan olağan hadiselerdendir. Bazı durumlarda başlangıç doğrultusuna nazaran 30 - 40 'e kadar varan —ve hatta geçen— bu sapmalar farkına varılmadığı veya gerekli önlemler alınmadığı taktirde, aramalar ve rezerv hesaplarında çok büyük hataların oluşmasına sebep olurlar. Unutulmamalıdır ki; yanhş bilgi edinmektense, hiç bilmemek çok daha iyidir. Dik olarak başladığı halde, bitiminde az çok yatay duruma gelmiş ve kuyu boyunca bükülmüş çember yayı görünümünde olan sondaj kuyuları rastlanılmış hadiselerdendir. Bu yüzden, delinen kuyuların eğimlerinin periodik olarak ölçülmesi ve kuyu istikametlerinde gerekli düzeltmelerin yapılması elmaslı sondaj işlevinin ana esaslarındandır.
