The accuracy of the estimation of coal thickness a n d reserve by kriging method depends on the number of samples used and the parameters of the variogram. In some cases, it is relatively easy to estimate the sill and nugget effect on the underlying variogram whereas the estimation of the range may not be easy. In this study, the effect of the range which is one of the parameters of the spherical type variogram model on the estimation of coal thickness and reserve was determined

Kriging metoduyla yapılan kömür kalınlık ve rezerv tahmmlerinin doğruluğu, kullanılan numune sayısına ve variogram modelinin parametrelerine bağlıdır. Bazı durumlarda variogram modelinin sili ve külçe etkisi değerleri kolaylıkla bulunurken etki mesafesini bulmak zor olabilir. Bu çalışmada, küresel tip variogram modellinin parametrelerinden birisi olan etki mesafesinin kömür kalınlık ve rezerv tahminlerine etkisi araştırılmıştır
