Öz
In this article the problem of sampling which is being met in every stage in the mineral world, from estimation of mineral reserves to assay analysis in laboratory, has been considered. Discussing the kinds of errors which affect the assay results the precautions to be taken to render these errors minimum have been mentioned. Gy's sampling equation, the most commonly used and reliable formulae at the present, has been explained. To explain the aplication of the equation various problems con nected with chromite ore have been solved and thus how to make use of the equation have been shown. Finally the assumptions on which the equation is based and its limitations have been discussed. Discussing sampling of materials of different physical properties, kinds of samplers, sampling systems and the points to be considered in sampling have been explained.

Bu makalede mineral dünyasında, rezerv tayinlerinden laboratuar tahlillerine kadar, her safhada karşılaşılan numune alma problemi üzerinde durulmuştur. Laboratuar tahlillerine tesir eden hataların niteliklerinden bahisle, bu hataların asgarî olması için alınması gerekli tedbirlere değinerek, numune almada halihazırda en geçerli ve gü venilir Gy denklemi izah edilmiştir. Denklemin uygulanışını izah etmek için, krom cevheriyle ilgili çeşitli problemler çözümlenerek, denklemden nasıl faydalanılacağı gösterilmiştir. Son olarak denklemin dayandığı ön kabuller ve denklemin uygulanmasındaki limitlerden bahsedilmiştir. Farklı özellikteki materyallerden numune alma üzerinde durarak, numune almada kullanılan aletler, numune alma usul ve sistemleri ve numune alırken dikkat edilmesi gerekli hususlar izaha çalışılmıştır.
